NC State University: Department of Poultry Science
North Carolina is one of the national leaders in poultry production; approximately 800 million broiler chickens and 39 million turkeys are produced annually in this state. Research at North Carolina State focuses on poultry science in conjunction with human nutrition, genetics, immunology, developmental biology, toxicology, biotechnology, and health.
University of Georgia: Poultry Science

Poultry Education and Research Center
Pennsylvania State University’s Poultry Education and Research Center’s recent programs include development of an agricultural Spanish course in conjunction with the Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese, co-sponsorship of animal science undergraduate international travel tours, and participation in a Memorandum of Understanding between Penn State and Cairo University that will bring students from Egypt to the University Park campus in order to obtain a B.S. degree in Animal Sciences from Penn State.
Center of Excellence for Poultry Science
The poultry science department and the Center of Excellence for Poultry Science at the University of Arkansas include a complex of teaching, research and extension facilities at the Arkansas Agricultural Research and Extension Center and the John W. Tyson Poultry Science Building on campus. The Princeton Review has designated this University as one of the nation’s “Best 331 Colleges”.
Department of Animal and Avian Sciences: University of Maryland
The Department of Animal and Avian Sciences at the University of Maryland, College Park was formed in 1997 through the merger of the Animal Science, Dairy Science and Poultry Science Departments. Research programs are focused upon Animal Genetics and Cell Biology, Nutrient Utilization and Management, Animal Reproduction and Development.
